Patients who suffer from acute or chronic pain associated with disc herniations, bulges, or degeneration may benefit from non-surgical spinal decompression treatment. This therapy aims to help relieve pain and muscle spasms associated with various levels of lumbosacral discopathy, pinched nerves, and sciatica.
Spinal decompression therapy works by stretching the spine. Using a decompression table to apply specific, gentle stretch, a negative pressure is created to allow room for the disc material to reposition and return to its normal space. The goal of this therapy is to reduce and eliminate the patient's pain by addressing the root of the problem.
The initial exam will help determine if spinal decompression therapy is a good fit for the patient. Each spinal decompression patient will receive an individualized plan designed by one of the clinic Chiropractors. Typically, spinal decompression patients will need at least 12 sessions on the decompression table, and depending on the patient's response to the treatment, additional sessions may be required.
